Everyone has a photographer on their big day to capture those memorable moments but how do you ensure they are the right one? You want to begin with the style of photography you like then back it up with what you’re wanting to get from your photos. A skilled photographer will brief you by asking you to put together shot lists of family & friends you want to be included, gathering inspo pics of poses and layouts you like and even instructing you how to pose. This is one way to tell you are getting your value for money from one as opposed to someone starting out.
Tamara Little, Owner of Tamara Little Photography is a skilled wedding and event photographer who has been growing her business since 2014. With over 400 weddings alone under her belt (not including corporate, birthdays, engagements and other events) she knows what it truly means to ensure you are comfortable with a photographer on your big day.
“I love that I work with so many different personalities across so many unique weddings.” Says Tamara. “I love getting to know my couples on a personal level and hearing their stories. It’s a real joy to meet their families and capture this once in a lifetime event. Receiving messages of gratitude after the day is so heartwarming. Hearing that they’ve teared up when looking at the photos or video and shared these memories with their friends and family is amazing.”
Tamara has plenty of advice when it comes to helping clients and couples but above all she swears by an organised timeline and understanding your day. “Talk through the timeline carefully with your planner and/or photographer as this can have a big impact on your day. Ensure everyone is on the same page. Lean on your suppliers for advice and support. That is what they are there for!“
Whilst all photographers are different as are vendors in any category, Tamara believes in support not just on the day but throughout the entire journey from the moment of booking!
“I really get to know my couples on a deeper level. I meet with my couples face to face and stay in regular contact so that they feel nurtured and supported throughout. Many of my couples have remained friends after the day. Most of my couples indicate that they don’t feel comfortable in front of the camera, but I have eased their nerves and they feel really comfortable with me. I’m really proud and super grateful of the 95 5 star rave reviews my past beautiful couples have written about me in regards to the quality of work and experience with me. I love the candid and in between moments but also a sprinkling of moody or editorial if couples are down for that.“
