THE BRIEF
Very DIY Wedding.
Roughly $15,000 – $20,000 Budget with $2000 for a planner.
Needed someone who was LGBTQIA friendly and understood the vibrant, fun and unique crowd.
Privacy was super important so ensuring guests felt comfortable and safe without having a lot of photos taken etc.
Assistance required communicating with vendors during overseas time difference and recommendations and advice on pricing and timeline.
THE PROBLEM
Martha was living abroad for work when she contacted me and with the time difference found it hard to keep communication with vendors.
Given the flights to come back home alongside paying for accommodation for some of their closest friends travelling over their budget was limited. They were struggling with important things like chairs and where to source quality styling elements for the right price.
Alongside how much alcohol to buy and the creation of their timeline ensuring with a buffet everyone had fun but they still got the most out of their day with formalities and fun existing simultaneously.
Martha’s Mum and family were assisting with the catering and another big point was that she wanted her family to still enjoy the day as much as possible so asked for extra help to ensure they could be present.
THE SOLUTION
With a large guest count I worked with Martha & Chris to have a second Junior Planner on board who was happy to sign an NDA in relation to the photos and privacy ensuring they and their guests comfortability.
Met with them multiple times alongside calls and emails to ensure they were happy with their final timeline and styling layout.
Discussed styling options and hacks in order for Martha & Chris to save on cost. Things like relocating chairs from the ceremony to the reception space, using flower wholesaler for fresh florals, etc.
Provided advice on ratio of drinks to purchase alongside advice surrounding cocktails and service within overall timeline.
Ran the accommodation and buses point including communication with bus driver to ensure everyone made it to their rooms safe and sound.
Alongside regular OTDC and communication with all vendors, assisting friend who was MCing with notes to guide, providing an evacuation plan after liasing with venue and more.
