In January of this year Gabby & Luke finally tied the knot but it was an 8 month journey to get there! Gabby a teacher and Luke a landscaper and the couple having newly bought a house and in the middle of renovations they contacted us for assistance with planning their day.
They had a vision which was great – elope the week prior and have a “fake” ceremony the week after to celebrate with all their family and friends in Luke’s parents backyard. But where to begin, whilst saving on venue hire this meant they needed toilets, security, caterers, bar staff and more and Gabby was a bit overwhelmed. But have no fear this is what we do best!
So over the next 8 months we would help the couple find and lock in quotes from fabulous vendors they loved, plan the floorplan, multiple site visits to ensure Gabby’s styling vision would be executed on the day and help them put together a timeline that would ensure the evening ran smoothly.
Providing advice and assistance courtesy of a few minor things also for their actual day because we just fell in love with them as people. We couldn’t have been happier to see them tie the knot (unofficially) and how much they enjoyed the day.
A few things Gabby & Luke did which we loved…
- Purchased ashtrays for a designated smokers area to keep the premise easier to clean
- Considered all the guests dietaries when planning the catering
- Organised multiple site visits so we could see where the sun would be at that time of day to see the best spot for the ceremony
- Carved out time in their timeline for a few moments for just the two of them to take it all in!
It’s super important to remember it’s your day and you can work your timeline how you want but the expertise and guidance of a professional planner doesn’t hurt!
