Meet Hollie & Olivia Pirrotta – sisters in law who have a passion for styling and creating magical moments for your big day at a sustainable cost.

We all know when planning a wedding that florals can be one of the biggest costs especially if you are looking for a bespoke colour or something that’s not in season and Hollie & Liv are here to solve that problem! Coming from very different backgrounds but both with a strong creative mind when Covid hit they found themselves wanting to take a different direction and in 2020 Botanical Theory was born.

Based in the outer South East suburbs of Melbourne in just 4 short years Hollie and Liv have grown the business from selling décor during Covid to becoming one of the most in demand faux floral suppliers and stylists in Victoria. With a full 2024 wedding season and already having bookings filling much of the first half of 2025 the pair and their small but expanding team have now completed over 100 weddings, events and installations to date.

When asked what sets their business apart and makes them unique to help them achieve their success this was their response:

“Botanical Theory specializes in bespoke artificial florals that are virtually indistinguishable from fresh blooms. We’re committed to sustainable practices and crafting reusable, versatile designs. What truly sets us apart is our approach: unlike many artificial florists who offer pre-packaged designs, we take inspiration from fresh floristry. We evolve and refine our craft constantly, ensuring that every floral design is as unique as the story it represents. No two events look the same, and our clients receive florals that are just as distinctive as they are.”

With previous backgrounds in the corporate world Hollie and Liv have both stressed they would never go back and this is exactly where they want to be. They love creating arrangements for both weddings and other unique events including corporate galas and dinners. If they have one piece of advice for couples or clients when choosing their styling and florals they mentioned to “Focus on the details that matter most to you and trust your vendors to bring your vision to life. Letting go of “perfection” and staying present allows you to enjoy the day while giving your vendors the creative freedom to shine. When it comes to florals, creating a focal point can make a big impact without needing a big budget—sometimes concentrating your floral narrative in one space is far more effective than spreading it thin.”

Botanical Theory is only just beginning so if you don’t have them on your radar, watch this space because this definitely isn’t the last time you will come across their name particularly if you are located in Melbourne and surrounds. And if you are planning a 2026/2027 wedding or event don’t hold off booking in as the books are quickly filling up!

Keep an eye out for the team at upcoming events and be sure to say hello. In the meantime be following Botanical Theory on socials for all the latest trends and designs.
