Getting married in 20235 or just got engaged and unsure how to cut your guest list?
Gone are the days of having to invite all your Mum and Dad’s friends you’ve never met, hell you might not even invite your Mum and Dad!
More and more couples are choosing to simple elope with 2 witnesses saving all the cost and the headache!
Choosing between a large wedding and a small wedding depends on your preferences and budget. So what are the pros and cons you ask? Once again this will depend on your personality and what you see as a pro…
If you’re introverted the thought of a large wedding may be your worst nightmare, but to others it may be their dream…
Large Wedding:
- Pros: More guests, larger venues, more elaborate celebrations. Often larger venues are designed specifically for weddings so they are already designed to be elegant and modern and fitted with internal chandeliers and ceiling decor. They may also include an in house planner (this will never be the same or include the full extent of services an external planner does) but depending on your needs it may suffice.
- Cons: Higher costs, more planning, more stress.
Small Wedding:
- Pros: Intimate atmosphere, lower costs, easier to manage. Depending on your aesthetic you may be happy to hire a blank function room which can be significantly cheaper or even no hire fee at all with just a minimum spend on food and drink saving you a tonne.
- Cons: Limited guest list, simpler celebrations, potential guest list dilemmas.
Considerations:
- Budget: Larger weddings typically require a bigger budget.
- Guest List: Decide if you want a big celebration with everyone or a smaller, intimate gathering. This can become difficult if you aren’t including plus ones for some but are for others be prepared for the politics!
- Venue: Large weddings need bigger venues; small weddings can be more flexible.
